A Bit About Me
I grew up surrounded by creativity. When you don’t have much, you learn to be resourceful and my mom was a genius at finding new ways to grow. We made holiday ornaments out of flour dough, carved and painted handmade gifts, and turned scraps into something magical. Imagination was never in short supply. By middle school, I had even launched my first “business,” carrying around a notebook of hand-drawn greeting card designs, staying up late to finish orders, and hand-delivering them the next day.
My path eventually led me to a PhD in microbiology and a career in food safety not the most obvious pairing with art, but creativity has always been my north star. Science taught me to question the world deeply, and art gave me a way to express the answers I found.
Today, I paint in oil, acrylic, and digital mediums, with a special love for pets and portraits. Whether it’s honoring a beloved companion or capturing the stories etched in human faces, my work celebrates connection. I’m especially drawn to painting women and people of color with emotions that are raw and real stories too often overlooked in traditional art spaces.
My goal is to create art that feels personal, timeless, and deeply human whether it hangs on your wall, brightens your desk, or helps keep the memory of a loved one alive.
